Let Them Burn In Hell

Written by JP Carlos

Is it too bad of me to want rapist dead?  Is it too bad of me to want murders given the death penalty?  I cannot help but put myself in the shoes of the victim or their family.  The atrocities perpetrated by these individuals are too horrible to fathom.  All I have for them is pure disgust.

I value life and that is why I want them given the death penalty.  Many criminals repeat their crimes until they are caught.  Some evade capture for years and during this time, they run free to do their hell on earth.  With one less person doing these crimes, there is one less reason to feel unsafe.  Of course many insist that they be given life imprisonment.  I think otherwise.  First, the prisons are already crowded.  Managing institutions like these becomes more difficult and the risk for escape, corruption and all other unthinkable becomes higher.  Second, I do not want to pay for the food and lodging of these criminals.  Taxpayers are the ones who pay.  The Bureau of Corrections gets its budget from the national government which is practically tax payers’ money.  To think that am actually working to provide food and shelter to these monsters is just unacceptable.  The longer they are in the system, the longer I have to pay for their board and lodging.

As harsh as it may sound, the death penalty for atrocious crimes is just a practical way to get rid of scums.  Of course, I believe in rehabilitation and helping people become well!  But when all efforts are done and the person still goes back to his old dark ways we need to take measures.  Everyone has the right to life.  But I believe you forfeit it if you commit atrocities like they were merely insignificant infractions.

Perhaps I am no more innocent than these brutal beings for wanting the death penalty for their crimes.    But can you blame a father who fears for the safety of his family?
