Thank You For Your Prayers

Written by JP Carlos

Typhoon Hagupit, locally called Typhoon Ruby came and went.  From a Super Typhoon it eventually died down into a tropical depression.  Of course many will attribute this to the weather patterns and they may be right.  But some of us who believe in a higher power will always look towards God for gratitude.  And the prayers of the world for the Philippines is greatly appreciated.

The devastation could have been worse if the typhoon continued at its path with its ferocity when it came.  But surprisingly, it died down into a manageable storm. But in spite of this fortunate turn of events, over a billion pesos in damages was recorded. Moreover, lives were lost and many were injured.  When you are one of those people who have to suffer loss of property or loved one, this storm regardless if it is a super typhoon or not is devastating.

As the world watched the storm hit and pass the Philippines I cannot help but hope that the world continues to pray for the rehabilitation that has to take place.  More than just rebuilding homes; rebuilding emotions must start.  But as always, the Filipinos are known to be resilient people and we will jump over this hurdle.  But your help is always a welcomed sight.  Whether it is food, clothing or just a silent prayer, it will be appreciated.

The Filipino people especially those hit by Typhoon Hagupit know that there is life after a storm.  Even if it is rebuilding from scrap, there is a beautiful life afterwards.  Perhaps it is yet to be seen.  But looking towards a brighter tomorrow is what gives everyone hope.  As the Filipino people rebuild as nation after this storm, we say thank you to those who have offered their prayers and to those ready to help.
