I live in the 21st century – a world of freedom, a world of liberty, a world for the people. Ever since I was born, I knew and observed that each person around me had the freedom to say whatever he or she wanted, had the rights, and could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. This is the epoch of independence, and has been this way for so many, many years. I thought this was how the world revolved, each and every person joyfully walking around with their own wants and no guided future, because I was a mere child back then and I was trapped in my own personal childhood bubble of dolls, petty games, and everyday monotony only children like me would find amusing.
Oh, how wrong was I.
The world is a filthy place to live, and this I understood more and more as I grew. I thought the world was beautiful, a world of freedom, but in reality I was oblivious to most of the issues we had, especially the one concerning the trading of human beings. I am scared to think of such situations, as you would be solved off to a person for carnal purposes, or beat you up on purpose to receive the sympathy and money of passer-by’s, only the money being sent to the pockets of these traffickers. What a horror to even think about!
Human Trafficking is done in a lot of developing countries as it ensures easy money in to time, a precarious job it is but since it has been circling around for the past hundreds of years even the most skilled police force has an incredibly hard time to curb these activities. Human Trafficking, as described from informational materials, is said to be the trade in humans, most commonly used for the purpose of sexual slavery, forced labour or for the extraction of organs or tissues, including surrogacy and ovary removal. Traffickers go to great lengths to kidnap children off the streets just continue their horrendous cycle of Human Trafficking, just like Evelyn Chumbow, a native Cameroon, who was lured from her country by a rich Maryland couple promising a bright future and a top rate education, as she was a top ranked student. Instead, she was given no education and forced into servitude for the wealthy couple.
So, this a big issue part of our world and I feel extremely miserable for knowing that I could not do anything. I hope that one day it would all come to a stop and there would be no physical or emotional trauma for the girls and boys who were included in such rings because I understand that is more than just that. I hope that one day all will be well and our world will revolve in peace and there would be no war and poverty and all the problems we face each day, so it would be just like how I thought it was when I was younger, beautiful.
